We spent 2 days here and wish we'd spent longer - it is such a beautiful spot, very peaceful and well managed accommodation. The food was also excellent - best fish no chips we'd had in a long time and the kids enjoyed some excellent steak. The hosts were very welcoming and all the staff very professional. We drove there - the road was rough but not too bad as long as you leave plenty of time. The snorkeling was beautiful and we also enjoyed the free use of the kyaks. We will definitely return!

We reached Isangabay by road. It's a hard (but nice) 3-hours trip from Mbala. The welcome by Moorkel and Yolande (managers) was very warm. We parked our car on the beach of theTanganika Lake. May-be one of the most nice places from Zambia. We stayed there camping for 3 days. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. The food was excellent. The evenings were splendid! From there we visited the Kalambo Falls (220m) on the Tanzanian border, by foot....it was hard to leave a place like that! Thank you Moorkel & Yolande

I spent a couple of night at Isanga Bay after my last meeting with the Client. I received a very warm welcome from the managers. The food was excellent, well done and well prepared in the dish. If you're in the Mpulungu area DA NON PERDERE!

We had a lovely, peaceful, stay at your lodge. Our hosts were very considerate and helpful. We had an awesome time and we could catch up with lost sleep! The food was nice and we loved the fresh fish and chips every day! The lodge is in a process of revamping the rooms. Suggestions to make it more comfortable: 1. New mattresses 2. Cotton linen and 3. pillows (a must!) 4. New Towels. 5. Cold drinking water in the rooms.
The fresh local filter coffee was divine which was brought to our room every morning!

We stayed at Isanga Bay for a couple of nights. The managers were extremely attentive and the food was great. They have spent a great deal of time renovating the place and its looking great! If you're in the Mpulungu area- definitely pay them a visit!

Isanga Bay Lodge is situated on the shores of the vast Lake Tanganyika on Zambia's northern most border. The spectacular Kalambo Falls, the second highest in Africa, are nearby and make a popular hike.In front of the lodge is an expansive white beach shaded with palm trees overlooking the bay. This is a place to relax and enjoy the spectacular views over this huge ocean-like Lake, while you savor the delights of the calm waters, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, water skiing and more.

This is a beautiful property under new and capable management. Improvements are being made as we speak. The meals were simple, but pleasing. The grounds are beautiful and the beach front lovely. Ventilation inside the units is the greatest need although overnight was bearable. All in all, a very pleasant atmosphere for relaxation and lake activities

From being a teenager (a long time ago), I'd always been fascinated by stories of Lake Tanganyika, so when the chance to visit arose, I leaped at it. We were driving up to the Northern territory of Zambia from Ndola, and there were 2 resorts which took our fancy - one which involved a 6 hour trip by boat and this one, which only involved a half hour trip by boat. I'm pleased that we opted for the shorter trip, which had the added bonus of free parking in the grounds of a missionary school in Mpulungu.
On arrival at Isanga, we were welcomed by Lynne, who was caretaking the site for her friends who usually manage it, but the welcome could not have been better.
We were shown to our beach-front chalet and introduced to the other facilities, and the younger half of the party were shown where they could pitch their tent, in close proximity to the chalet. We had all opted for meals to be provided, and the standard was excellent, including catering to those of us who did not eat meat or fish (apparently, we missed out on a treat the first night, when the meal was fish freshly caught from the lake!).
This venue falls into the category of Tropical Paradise, waking up to a beautiful scene looking over Lake Tanganyika, eating coconuts freshly picked from the palms on the beach, snorkelling and kayaking on the lake, and, perhaps best of all, freedom from the internet and mobile phone signals, so really able to relax from the everyday pressures. Even a potentially fatal medical emergency was managed calmly and effectively, and without long-lasting ill effects.

I am already looking forward to my next visit.

We arrived at Isanga Bay by car - which to the more faint hearted I would not recommend. The last 25 km are quite a journey - there is a possibility to gt there by boat but as we are campers this was not an option for us. But what a reward it was to have made this bumpy journey. Due to further hicc ups we arrived at Isanga in the dark and Nicolene pre cooked a dinner for us - so we did not have to unpack all kitchen boxes in the dark. The children had a fab time snorkeling and canoeing in the Bay. We initially planned to stay only 2 nights but extended 1 extra night. Had another lovely evening with Nicolene and Dirk who are both superb hosts.
