Tanganyika is the third largest lake in the world by volume and one of less than 20 ancient lakes on earth. It's the second largest lake in Africa and holds at least 250 species of cichlid fish and 150 non-cichlid species, most of which live along the shore line down to a depth of approximately 600 feet.  Snorkelling and swimming  here are a fantastic experience as the waters are usually, warm, clear and calm.
